East Acton murder inquiry after man dies following reports of gunfire
Police appeal for witnesses after a 40-year-old man died near a memorial gathering. The cause of death remains subject to a post-mortem.

A man aged 40 died in East Acton after police were called to reports of gunfire on Friday evening. The Metropolitan Police announced a murder investigation on 3 October and said no arrests had been made at the time of its statement.
Cause of death to be established
Officers and ambulance staff attended the junction of Braybrook Street and Erconwald Street at 19:47 on 2 October. The man died at the scene. Police said a post-mortem would establish the cause of death; they believed he had suffered a gunshot wound.
Witness appeal
Detectives believe between 40 and 50 people, including children, were present for a memorial gathering. They are seeking witnesses and footage from the surrounding streets and Wormwood Scrubs playground between 18:00 and 20:00. Information can be given on 101, citing CAD 7011/2Oct. The investigation remains open and the police account does not establish who was responsible.
