Reading and relying on content
The publication provides news, analysis and historical context for general information. Economic and financial coverage is not investment advice tailored to your circumstances. Decisions based on an article may require current information and appropriate professional advice.
The record at a point in time
Reports reflect the information available when published or updated. Later developments may supersede an archived account. Event dates identify the subject of historical coverage; publication dates identify when a report was issued. Substantive factual corrections should be explained in the relevant article.
Sharing, quotation and republication
Links to articles may be shared. Quotations should be proportionate to their purpose, identify the publication and preserve the meaning of the original passage. Statutory exceptions continue to apply. Full republication, translation or commercial exploitation of our text requires permission or another valid basis.
Photography and third-party rights
Image credits identify sources and licences. Open licences may permit reuse subject to attribution, share-alike or other conditions. Permission to reuse our text does not automatically include photographs, trademarks, documents or other material belonging to third parties. Check each credit before reusing an image.
Contributions and proposals
Submitting material does not create a commission or a commitment to publish. Contributors should identify sources, confirm the rights they can grant and disclose interests connected with the subject. Fees, editing arrangements and reuse rights must be agreed before commissioned work begins.
Responsible access
Do not disrupt the service, circumvent its protections, impersonate others or use its contact details for unsolicited bulk messages. External links provide access to evidence or services; they do not imply general endorsement of the destination. Availability may be affected by maintenance or technical interruptions.
Commercial arrangements
Advertising and sponsored-content enquiries are handled through Advertising. Deliverables, timing, rights and payment terms require a separate agreement. Paid content must be identifiable. These terms do not promise audience size, search rankings or a commercial outcome.
