Pitch a contribution
Start with the argument or question your article will address, why it matters to readers in Britain and what evidence is available. Include a short account of your relevant experience and disclose interests connected with the subject. Sending a proposal does not establish a commission. Any fee, deadline, editing arrangements and rights must be agreed before commissioned work begins.
Suggest a story
Send a concise account with dates and links to documents that can be examined. Separate direct knowledge from information received from others. Do not include unnecessary personal information. A useful proposal explains what is new, what remains uncertain and why the subject deserves attention.
Request reuse or republication
Identify the article, intended publication, language, territory, duration and proposed use. An agreement covering our text may not include photographs or other material supplied by third parties. Check the individual image credit and licence before making a separate request.
