Empty homes plan puts councils in the spotlight
A policy announced before today remains on the conference agenda.
ITV’s 26 September report describes proposed powers to help councils return empty homes to use. Empty Dwelling Management Orders concern management of qualifying properties and can run for up to eight years. The proposal is part of the housing debate being followed in this edition; it is not a new announcement made on 29 September.
