Man charged with preparing terrorist acts, including against Nigel Farage
Counter Terrorism Policing says Joshua Kerry is due before Westminster magistrates on 7 October. The charge has not been tested at trial.

A 28-year-old man from Rotherham has been charged with preparing acts of terrorism, including against Nigel Farage MP, Counter Terrorism Policing announced on Friday, 2 October. Joshua Kerry is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, 7 October.
What police have announced
Police say the Crown Prosecution Service authorised one count under section 5(1)(a) of the Terrorism Act 2006. The charge concerns conduct alleged to have occurred between 31 May 2024 and 8 July 2026. A charge is an allegation, and Kerry is presumed innocent unless convicted.
Court appearance to follow
Deputy Assistant Commissioner Vicki Evans described an investigation involving detectives, analysts and forensic specialists. The announcement does not set out the detailed evidence prosecutors intend to put before the court. It gives a scheduled appearance date, not a trial date or a finding that an attack took place. The immediate development is the new charging decision; the allegations remain subject to the criminal process.
