An overnight emergency

Residents were evacuated after a fire broke out at a residential building on Market Street in Nottingham late on Monday, 5 October. ITV reports that firefighters remained at the scene on Tuesday morning and that no injuries had been reported in the fire service’s update. An investigation into the cause was due later in the day.

Check the operator before travelling

Nottingham City Transport’s notice, updated at 07:35 on 6 October, warned of diversions following road closures near Upper Parliament Street and Market Street. It directed Orange 34, 35 and 36 passengers to Angel Row, and Pink 28 and 30 passengers to Burton Street beside The Cornerhouse or Upper Parliament Street. Other services have separate boarding instructions.

Restrictions can change

ITV reported a suspension of trams between Theatre Royal and Market Square. These are dated reports of disruption, not a guaranteed description of every route at departure time. Passengers should consult current operator information. The reviewed sources do not establish a cause for the fire or a confirmed time for full reopening.
